A former mayor has been sentenced for financial crimes

(WOIO) CLEVELAND, OHIO – A Cuyahoga County Common Pleas court condemned the former mayor of Newburgh Heights on Tuesday.

Trevor Elkins previously admitted to attempted theft in office and attempted perjury in election-related matters for offences committed over a six-month period commencing in January 2017.

Elkins will be barred from running in any Cuyahoga County election between 2024 and 2028 as part of the plea agreement.
