Ketchup flavored ice pops are making their debut in Canada

Despite the fact that ketchup tends to divide opinion, it’s hard to deny that it’s a staple of summer barbecues. Ketchup is a must-have at any summer barbecue, whether it’s slathered on hot dogs, hamburgers, or bratwurst straight from the grill. Isn’t it time to make a frozen treat out of this?

Ketchup Ice Pops, which appear to be American and patriotic, are now available in Canada. The Frenchsicle is a limited-edition ketchup-flavored popsicle created by French’s Ketchup to celebrate the first week of summer. The ketchup pops can be found at pop-up locations across Canada until June 24th.

The pop’s savory flavor is well-balanced by a touch of “salty sweetness,” just like any good ketchup. They were created in partnership with Happy Pops, a Canadian all-natural ice pop shop, and were made with Canadian tomatoes. ‘

Frenchsicles will be handed out in Vancouver, Toronto, and Leamington, Ontario. French’s will also donate two meals to Food Banks Canada for each lucky winner.

In a survey commissioned by French’s, the company found that 79 percent of Canadians say they like or love ketchup, and 78 percent of Canadians who like ketchup think it’s important to buy ketchup made from Canadian tomatoes.

A Frenchcicle can only be found in Canada, but you can make your own ketchup-flavored frozen treat at home with this simple recipe. Let the grilling begin! With ketchup-worthy dishes like burgers and hot dogs, we have something for everyone all summer long. Just don’t put ketchup on a Chicago dog.
